The pair’s current ‘golden handcuffs’ deal with the channel ends on New Year’s Eve – and ITV seem very keen to keep two of their most valuable assets for the foreseeable future.
According to The Sun, the former Byker Grove stars were tapped up by Amazon in an attempt to be poached away from their televisual home.
A source told the publication that: ‘With their current golden handcuffs deal up for renewal, other broadcasters have been sniffing around — most notably Amazon who still have a lot of cash to splash.
‘There was talk of them getting their own series on the streaming giant. ITV are desperate to prevent this and have come in with a new, big, big money, three-year deal.’
‘Ant and Dec are unquestionably ITV’s most prized assets,’ they continued.
‘They consistently come out top in internal audience feedback polls and their star quality has not waned in over 20 years.’
And if reports are correct, the presenters could be raking in some very serious cash if they decide to sign on the dotted line.
‘Their current contract is £30million and is now going up to at least £40million — with scope to extend it in length and take the pay up to as high as £50million,’ the source claimed.

‘Terms are still being thrashed out but with the new series of BGT starting on 19 January, time is of the essence.’
As the de facto hosts of Britain’s Got Talent as well, fans will be hoping the duo decide to stay on – the show has just been renewed in a new five-year deal.
‘I am thrilled our relationship with ITV is to continue for the foreseeable future. ITV has always been home to Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor – and me! – and this long-term commitment shows mutual respect in our partnership,’ boss Simon Cowell explained.
A rep for ITV refused to comment, saying: ‘We do not discuss artist’s contracts.’
