A nine year-old boy helped stop a thief who was trying to steal his family’s car by battering him with an iPad.
Hasnain Muratab used the tablet computer as a weapon after the teen leapt into his family’s Toyota SUV in Chicago on Sunday and started driving.
Hasain and his 16 year-old sister Imama were in the car with their youngster sibling Ayesha, 4, while their parents collected a pizza from a nearby Domino’s.
And Imama got in on the fightback too, wrapping her arm around the thief’s neck as he sat in the driver’s seat and pulled away.
Imama told WGN: ‘I started shouting at him, “Who are you? Get out of the car!”‘
The quick-thinking teenager also dialed 911 on her dad’s phone.
She continued: ‘ Thirty seconds into the call, the dude just hopped out of the car.’
The worrying incident saw the thief drive a total of four blocks.
After fleeing the car, he hopped into a stolen Toyota Camry which was later spotted at a gas station.
Cops detained four of the five people in the car, but have yet to say whether the thief battered by the Muratab youngsters was one of those detained.
The family were reunited, with the Muratab parents explaining how they’d only left the car for around a minute to go inside the Domino’s to collect their order.
