New Dancing On Ice judge John Barrowman has vowed to be critical of the 2020 celebrity line-up when the series returns in January.
The former contestant, who’s replaced Jason Gardiner on the panel, has promised that he won’t be mincing his words when it comes to giving the stars their feedback after taking to the rink.
‘I’m not going to be a wimp. I’m going to be critical,’ John stated. ‘If the contestants are cr*p I’ll tell them they’re cr*p. But I’ll do it in a polite way to motivate them.
‘I’m looking for commitment, I’m looking for a good work ethic and I’m looking for them entertaining.’
John continued to Daily Star on Sunday: ‘If their partnerships aren’t good and they’re not entertaining and not stepping up to the plate, then they’re going to hear from me and they’re going to be told.’
John will deliver his cutting critiques alongside Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo when the show returns in the New Year.
‘I am so excited to be returning to the Dancing On Ice family,’ John enthused. ‘Unlike most I have been through the rigorous task of skating live as a contestant in the first series.
‘This is a thrilling adventure for me and I hope to bring a Fresh, Fun and Fab-u-lous angle to the judging panel.’
Original skating judge Jason confirmed the news of his departure himself via Instagram after rumours of him being replaced began to do the rounds.
