Frozen 2 has surpassed the original movie’s US box-office earnings and we can’t let it go.

The first film was already one of the biggest hypes of the decade, but it looks like part two has proven to be a lot more popular than the 2013 movie.

The first Frozen made $400.7 million (£306.3 million) at the box office in the USA, but now Frozen 2 has exceeded our expectations as it has already gone past the $410.7 million (£314 million) mark at the box office.

Not only did it surpass the mark, but the popular children’s movie has become the seventh highest-grossing animated film of all time, with Disney predicting that it may soon enter the top five.

It’s also the third highest-grossing of the year.

That’s some big numbers for a 5-foot 4 talking snowman (Josh Gad), who follows Elsa (Idina Menzel), Anna (Kristen Bell) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) around.

Yeah, we know, how could they?

Despite Frozen scoring a 90% ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Frozen 2 scoring 77%, many are still convinced it’s better.

There is endless evidence on social media that Frozen 2 is just as good as, if not better than, Frozen.

Frozen 2 is absolutely majestic! It got way darker than I expected it to. They really went there and I think they nailed it.

The new songs are incredible. It was hilarious when it needed to be. It took what was great about the first one and made it even better.

What I’m about to say will be highly criticized and I might be in danger after tweeting, but here goes nothing… Frozen 2 was better than the first one. And that’s on Olaf.

One fan wrote: ‘I can’t believe i’m saying this, heck, i didn’t even think it was possible to say this… but FROZEN 2 IS BETTER THAN FROZEN 1.

‘BRO THE WHOLE MOVIE IS BEAUTIFUL And props to OLAF for being the star of the movie! p/s: they could’ve chilled out with the singing tho ksksksk [sic]’.

Another commented: ‘Okay. Frozen 2 was fun. which for me overall is better than Frozen 1. The songs are not as catchy as Frozen 1 but damn the songs hits hard together with the Story. Love it. 8/10.

‘Looking forward to the sing-along version. btw there’s an end credit scene. you’re welcome’.
