Former Love Island star Alexandra Cane has slammed the suggestion she’s had liposuction or gone under the knife, as she spoke about her recent fitness journey and weight loss.
While she’s always been an inspiration for many, after appearing on last year’s season of Love Island, the star is looking absolutely smashing after showing off her efforts in the gym.
Sharing her hench rig and abs earlier this month she’s feeling proud after acing her own goals.
And, of course, that’s when the trolls attack, right?
After followers suggested she had taken to detox teas and quick-fix diets to achieve her goals, with some going so far as to claim she had lipo, Alexandra has taken to social media to slam all of it after fans said they were ‘disappointed’ in her so-called transition ‘from body positivity to weight loss advisor’, and that she’s ‘let girls down’.
Wanting to set the record straight and speak her truth, Alexandra, 28, took to her Instagram Stories over the Christmas break.
‘The reason why in this life you have to do things for yourself and nobody else,’ she said to the camera. ‘People will always have something negative to say. What matters is your own happiness.
‘I’d be letting myself down if I had continued down a path that didn’t make me feel good.’
In another slide she added: ‘I just want you guys to know that I would never do anything that is unnatural or a quick fix. My fitness journey has been completely authentic and I’ve put in a lot of hard work to get to where I am now.
‘I want to inspire you, support you and motivate you. I got myself out of a horrible place into a happy place doing this and I want to share how I’ve done it. I’m not into detox teas or fad diets. So let’s not hate on each other. There’s no need for hate or negativity or bitterness.’
Alexandra, who was partnered with Dr Alex George on Love Island, continued: ‘Oh and one more thing… If I hear another person commenting, saying I’ve had liposuction of all the things – to get to where I am – I’ll go the hell off because this is absolutely not what I’m about.
‘What other people choose to do to their bodies is up to them, but I’m all about working hard, dedication and commitment to get to where I am. I love putting in the hard work and that’s what I’ve done. So anybody who comes at me with the liposuction thing – be gone!’
She took to social media last week to unveil the hard work she’d put into her fitness, posing on Instagram in a bikini while snapping a selfie in the mirror.
It’s a real vibe and should be rewarded, as she well knew.
She wrote: ‘Because life is too short to be anything but PROUD of the person you’ve become… I’ve been hiding away a little bit & conscious of not posting bikini pics/pictures with too much skin etc as there has already been enough criticism about my fitness/wellness journey – weight loss being a bonus.
‘But truly I have NEVER been in this shape in my life 😂 I feel sexy & confident and wanted to post this so thats what I’m doing. Sorry, not sorry. The work and consistency it took to get here – I’m owning it. I feel f***ing fabulous.’
Good for you, girl!
Earlier this year Alexandra insisted she would never go under the knife, saying it just wasn’t for her.

‘I’ve had a lot of companies messaging me about getting free filler and nose surgery and whatever it is I wanted and I’ve just declined it,’ she told Metro.co.uk in Feburary. ‘It’s not really something that I want to enter into. If I was to do it it would be my own choice completely. It would never be for anybody else.
‘I just don’t feel the need to do it. I feel like there’s more to life than changing your image to impress somebody else.’
