Sir Alex Ferguson was baffled by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s decision to take off Anthony Martial in his side’s win against Burnley.
The Scot was in attendance at Turf Moor as the Frenchman gave United a deserved 1-0 lead shortly before half-time.
It took Martial’s tally for the season to ten goals and he’s on course to smash his campaign best of 17 – which he managed in his debut term back in the 15/16 season.
Burnley were well below-par but United’s slim lead gave the Clarets every opportunity to find an equaliser and Sean Dyche’s men piled forward in the final ten minutes.
Solskjaer had made just one change during the game, which was a surprise given the quick turnaround from a 4-1 win against Newcastle in Boxing Day.

But his decision to take Martial off and replace him with left-back Luke Shaw was an eyebrow-raising one and it certainly caught Ferguson by surprise.
The legendary Scot was caught on camera questioning the move and he appeared baffled by the Norwegian’s decision.
Nevertheless, United pulled through and they survived a late onslaught to score an all-important second goal in injury time through Marcus Rashford.
