Sophie was originally meant to be on the summer show but talks fell through, so she will now reportedly be appearing on the ITV show on 12 January instead.
A source told The Sun: ‘Sophie is a dead ringer for Rochelle and viewers will love the likeness. ITV2 bosses are hoping she will be the star of this series.
‘She’s got a really bubbly personality, plus they love the famous link.’
The model will hopefully be flying off the villa located in South Africa with a group of other singletons looking to find love.
Back in April, Love Island producers were adamant on having Sophie in the series.
‘ITV2 bosses are really keen for Soph to be the star of this year’s series,’ an insider said. ‘Last year they had Dani and her claim to fame with dad Danny captured viewers and boasted the show’s ratings.’
‘This year they’re hoping to do the same with Rochelle and her youngest sister, who’s the spitting image of her.’
Those plans didn’t work out too well, but at least there are now two versions of the show to add famous links to.
Not only is the show prone to having more and more contestants with famous links with each season, but Caroline Flack is also no longer hosting this series.
The 34-year-old said: ‘To say I’m excited to be heading to Cape Town to host Love Island, the biggest show on television, is an understatement.

‘I want to thank ITV for trusting me at the helm of this huge show. I wish it was in better circumstances; Caroline is a brilliant host and also a friend. We’ve spoken a lot in the last few days since she stepped down. She has been very kind to me and strongly pushed me for this role.
‘I’ve watched her host every series and know I have big boots to fill. I will try and do it justice.’
She continued: ‘Above all, I am a massive fan of this show. I’ve never been to a Love Island villa, and I can’t wait to get in there to meet all the new Islanders looking for love. The Love Island team are the best in the business… including the voice and heart of the show, Iain. He thought he was getting a holiday away from me… not a chance!’
Love Island returns to ITV2 on January 12.
